Frozen MikroTik - Can't Ping - Can't Reset

Good day all,

I’ve got a RouterBoard 750 and since yesterday it seems to be frozen - I can’t even ping it.

  • All port lights stay on
  • Power light at the back stays on
  • ACT light does not come on

This is the situation from the moment that I turn on the routerboard - absolutely nothing changes - not one single light blinks (ever).

I have reset the router by pressing (and holding) the reset button at the back - until my finger becomes numb - while cycling the power state. I have reset the router by short circuiting the pin hole under one of the rubber feet. Each time nothing happens - not a single light blinks.

I also tested all 3 capacitors on the board and found all working fine. I think it might also be worth mentioning that I did not upgrade the firmware recently.

Any help on this subject would be greately appreciated - as this is quite urgent.

Thanks in advance

Use Netinstall and a serial cable. Connect to it via a terminal program.
There is help on this in the Wiki pages.

If you connect the serial port with a cable it should show up with text, and then a login prompt. If nothing appears, check the cable, and if good, then probably a faulty board.

There is no serial port on the RB750. It is the cost reduced version of the RB450.

About all you can do is hold the reset button while applying power.

It is detailed in the RB750 start-up and installation guide found here:
