Frustration with CCR1036-8G-2S+

Hi

I bought 4 of these and I am now just find them to be stinking piles of poo, thats my current thought.

I bought 2 for testing.

Connected them to 2 10G switches with the 2 x sfp+ ports, setup LACP and configured vlans off there, then I created vrrp’s to sit in each vlan.

Did some testing, mainly around performance, found it to be okay, bought another 2 to put in my DC.

When I come to do some work on them, like turning of neighbour discover, the router crashes and reboots, try changing the vrrp config crashes reboots. If i try and do this on 1 item it crashes if I do it to all the items crashes

Okay there might be an issue, but it seems to me like the VRRP isn’t working properly either, you would think when 1 node dies alls is okay, I have another device setup the same running vrrp to take over the dgw… no crash and burn, I have a 2-3 min outage … until the original node reboots.

This is just to fragile for any sort of production environment.

EDIT
I have sent a support-out to support… waiting … waiting … yawn

Hi Alex,

What RouterOS are you running ?

We have a bunch of these in production running everything you have mentioned, and much much more.

Nice and stable for almost 6 months now.

what version are you running.

I was running 6.10

I just upgraded to 6.12… and tried the same things and it didn’t crash …

I had held of on 6.12 because of all the bad things I have heard, but seems to be okay for me ..

So fingers crossed, i will run this on my test pair for a week and then push out to prod.

Good to hear. Hopefully 6.12 is stable for you.
