FTC power via dongle and AC adapter

Hello,
Here is my first question on the board.

I have 4 FTC that I am confused about how they power on. I have them currently running connected to POE switches.
My question is they don’t power On with the supplied dongle and power adapter. I have tested all 4 of them and none come on with the supplied power adapter.
What am I doing wrong?
The reason I want to use the power adapter is to plug into the Gigabit uplink port on the switch. The uplink does not provide POE.

Thank you!

How are you powering them?

Guess it comes with a POE injector like this one (RBGPOE):

You should:

  • plug the RBGPOE male RJ45 onto your Switch Gigabit Uplink port
  • Take a standalone ethernet cable, then plug one end on the RBGPOE female RJ45, and the other to the FTC RJ45 socket.
  • Plug FTC power adapter to mains, and then the power adapter DC jack to the RBGPOE DC power socket.

Thank you, not sure why I was so stubborn to think the dongle was suppose to plug into the fiber converter.

Some routerboards accept both kinds of powering, i.e. POE, and also direct DC jack plug.

FTCs have high chances to be installed outdoors, or on unconvenient places, only accepts POE powering both for convenience and to keep costs down.
