FTP Read/Write permission Problem

Hi all.

I have configured my Router to allow ftp requests from all ips (0.0.0.0) on port 21. When i access the router via my Mozilla web browser, i get the the error message, “425 Cant build data connection” I have also tried with Internet Explorer with no success.

My firewall does not have any filter rules that are limiting access in any way.

Someone please advise :frowning: .

I have the same problem. I upgraded to MT ver. 3.7, changed nothing and nobody can do FTP from the local network to any FTP site outside. (I have the Firewall-NAT set to masquerade, and the same filter rules that were working with previous versions of MT). Can anybody help us? Is anybody else going trough the same problem?. Thanks. Gastón

Greetings!

Maybe it is the user. If you are looking to login as admin, this works for me:
ftp://admin@xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx
Firefox pops a password box
IE pops a user/password box
Then in ya go!

Otherwise it may be a firewall issue.

FTP data connection is connection to port 20. allow it together with 21

I have tried logging in as admin@xx.xx.xx.xx with no sucess. I have also allowed ftp access on port 21 and 20. Still getting the same read/write error.

Any other ideas?

Does your log show any entries after you try to access ftp?

passive FTP uses a lot more than those ports.

In my case it has something to do with the MT version. The system was working ok with MT 2.9.xx the proble started when upgrading to MT 3.7. Since the I can not accees to any FTP site in the Internet from any PC in the lical LAN
