FTP user and password

Hi,
Can i ask you mabey is very basic question but I’ve got problem.
My question is: Can i do separate user and password just for FTP, for reading or write?? If im going to access with full user and password is working good but i would like user and pass just for reading. I was trying but…i didn’t do

I think the files permission is necessary for an ftp account. Try an account with only that permission. Not sure if you can give read-only FTP access though…

You can, I think it was added in some recent version. Use user group with only ftp and read policies and nothing else (also sensitive if you need to be able to download backups).

copy that, but if i change it at read and ftp, i can still remove and paste documents, just i like to copy file from ftp to com, i wouldn’t like to remove or pate document to the ftp. Make sens?

It works here, my test user can only read, not write or delete. When I try that, I get error:

STOR test.txt
550 'STOR': not enough permissions
...
DELE autosupout.rif
550 'DELE': not enough permissions

User group is defined as follows:

/user group
add name=ftptest policy="ftp,read,sensitive,!local,!telnet,!ssh,!reboot,!write,!\
    policy,!test,!winbox,!password,!web,!sniff,!api,!romon,!dude"
