We are just starting to use Mikrotik and have noticed that when we setup equipment in G only mode it still uses the B rates for data. We can have it set to G only mode on tower and on client but does not seem to matter. When we have it setup this way the throughput on the tower is not very good and signal bounces a lot. Go into the advanced settings and remove the B rates and manually configure G only there and everything works perfectly. Running 4.11 for firmware. Is it a bug with the firmware or am I doing something wrong.
Also noticed whenever we close out of Winbox with the wireless tab left open for the wireless card. The next time you log into the Mikrotik and open the Wireless menu it will change your encryption to default. If you close out of winbox with any other tab open in the wireless menu you are fine. This only seems to happen when you close out with the wireless tab in the wireless settings. Anyone know a fix for this. I have had a few techs accidentally change the encryption not realizing it because they never selected the option. They went in and changed another setting and along with it the encryption changes because it is set to default and soon as they click apply it activates that setting also.
Any help on this would be great
