I am trying to use my Mikrotik with a Thomson TG782 gateway. I set the TG782 to assign the public IP address to the Mikrotik, which it does successfully. However, the IP address assigned is 64.xxx.xxx.xxx/8 and the gateway is 173.xxx.xxx.xxx. Because of this, the Mikrtotik has no gateway to use. This configuration somehow works in the Thomson through PPPoA voodoo
Is there a workaround to have this work on my Mikrotik? Thanks in advance for any and all help.
Anyone care to take a stab at this?
Anyone?
This Thompson device, is it setup to terminate a PPPoE or PPPoA with a DSL provider?
Is it setup as a bridge (non-router mode)?
On your Mikrotik router, please ensure that your DHCP client is configured to “Add Default Route” set to YES. Make sure the DHCP Client is configured on the interface that is uplinked to the Thompson.
Please send me the following output:
- /ip dhcp-client print
- /ip address print
- /ip route print

Try routing it out the interface rather than the IP gateway
