Hi,
I’m searching for a gbit router for my home, we have a 1gbit down 50 mbit up cable connection and need a good router for that.
I would like to have wlan and ipsec, since I could not find that combination anywhere (for gbit wan) I am looking into the router RB850Gx2 and RB750Gr3. The wlan then has to be done with a separate device
IPSec speed around the 50Mbit up should be enough for me.
I looked at the data sheets of both of these router and have some questions:
It seams that the RB850Gx2 is the better router for normal traffic, but I could not find any information on the IPSec speed, only that it has hardware support.
The RB750Gr3 seams to be okay for gbit but not in all the cases. At least https://www.isi.edu/~johnh/PAPERS/Sinha07a.pdf lets me think that in most cases the 1gbit should be reached.
Or is there a better router that is not totally over the top for a SOHO home router. I don’t have a problem with spending more money if I get more (like wifi or PoE; sadly the QCA9557 is slower and not available in Canada).
Thanks a lot,
David
