Hello,
I bought a MikroTik RB2011U as recommended by a friend in order to improve wifi signal around the house.
I’m very bad at networking but I did manage to create the connection (via PPPoE) and the WiFi.
The issue is that I have a 1Gbps connection, which allows me to reach speeds of about 900mbps on the old router. Using the same cables and same computer, the MikroTik caps out at about 360mbps. This is connected directly via cable to the computer.
I tried to look around the forum for an answer but the closest I got is to check the way the switch is configured in terms of CPU usage, but I’m not sure how to do that. I checked the manual but didn’t achieve much with that either.
So bottom line, is there a particular setting that might limit my connection speed via cable?
I also played with the settings and manual for the wireless connection, and the most I could get out of it was 50mbps, which is fine, I don’t really mind. But I really needed the cable speed as I want to stream some large files via DLNA and 360mbps just won’t do.
