Gigabit rate not linking between (2) RB/800 ?

Does anyone know why connecting (2) RB/800’s together from Eth2 to Eth2 does NOT link up in 1Gb rates? I used a good Cat5e shielded patch cable, about 3 feet in length. I tested this before going to the tower and it worked, but now it will only link at 100Mbps, and when I try to force it to 1Gb it says “no link”.

The only thing different here, is that Eth1 POE is connected to another device at 100Mbps. Would that lock-down Eth2 to 100Mbps too? I don’t see why, they are not programed as switch or bridge.

Any help would be appreciated.

Have you looked at the cable to confirm all 8 wires are connected? I’ve seen “patch” leads that only use 4 wires which would kill gbit from working at all

You bet. It was even a high grade shielded cable, I know all 4 pair are there because I made it myself. I never doubt my ends, I’ve been making them for 7 years but I will check it again.
