It was quite a news for me there is no easy-to-find docs on how modern Mirotik should be set up to allow nice traffic prioritization.
Yes, Google returns a lot of links for “Mikrotik QoS” and similar topics but most of them describe old, pre-v6 approach, and only some describe “difference between v5 and v6 approach”. Bad way for newbie to learn that, really!
Wiki won’t help much, too. Look at https://wiki.mikrotik.com/wiki/Category:QoS and you’ll be surprised how outdated topics are there, and most of them not even marked as “v2-v5 only”.
So to say, this is part of overall Mikrotik “look”, the way that newcomers treat the platform. I’ve heart a lot of “nice routers but hard to find out right way to configure beyond simple things”. And QoS topics is the example!
May there be more attention on documentations? Please!
