Good news, Dude under Wine together with Ntop

Just for your interest.

I have so far tried 4 different flavours of Linux OS..

Puppy Lucid
Puppy Precise
Antix
Puppy Slacko

There seems to be nothing wrong with the Dude compilation, however there are issues between The Linux OS and Wine when using Dude.

Dude seems to work fine when used within WINE on Puppy Linux, other variants have issues relating to ping and is likely to be related to a linux permissions level.

NTOP
I just found it impossible to successfully download and compile NTOP from the information given on almost a dozen different Linux sites and foros.

So after 3 weeks of messing around, it seems that NTOP “runs out the box” when installed using the “Puppy Package manager”

And so does the installation of WINE, by simply using “puppy package manager”

Finally download the “dude.exe”, double click it, to install… Let Puppy install it in the hidden C directory.

Configure WINE (wine config) to emulate windows XP and make sure Wine has dude listed as a “program”

Start Dude by using Wine and searching for the dude.exe.

Puppy has 2 screens, 1 can be used for Ntop and the other for Dude.
