Good old RB750 alternative

Hey,
I need to buy few small routers to set them as OpenVPN bridge. I used to this with RB750 and it worked like a charm. But since their not available anymore, I need to buy sth else.
I found hEX lite (RB750 r2) but according to this forum I find them extremely faulty. Have been them fixed recently (or firmware/ROS)?

I see that hEX (RB750 Gr3) is based on different CPU, and it’s basically different device, so perhaps it’s working better (like the old, good RB750)?

I have never seen any model to be extremely faulty… Maybe it is some sort of misunderstanding?
