My ISP provides fibre to the home via GPON ONT SFP connected to a Hitron Modem. Recently I had removed the modem completely and connected the SFP cable to a TPLink media converter (SFP to RJ45 connected to CCR ) which was working fine, but I was looking for more control so I purchased a GPEN21 from MikroTik. The SFP cable works in an old CRS-125 so I know this is possible, but perhaps just not with the GPEN21.
My CCR is unable to get a DHCP address when using the GPEN21 and I I have tried several different configurations. Im wondering if what I am trying to do is possible, or if perhaps I have missed something in the setup.
Information:
- The SFP is detected and all information is shown
- ISP uses VLAN 35. I’ve tried tagging/untagging/passthrough and nothing seems to work.
- I’ve tried using Port1 (rj45) and Port2 (rj45) and neither seem to be working.
