GPeRx4 (GPER14i) Wall/Pole Mount

Has anyone come up with a good way to wall or post mount a GPeRx4?

Pictures?

The device is already intended for pole/post mount (via a normal tie/clamp[1]), so I don’t understand the second part of your question.

If you want to remain in Mikrotik’s “solutions”, you can get one of these:

https://mikrotik.com/product/QME
Both simply “transform” a wall into a (very short) pole.

The el-cheapo solution is:

  1. get a short piece of (thick) small PVC (or aluminum) pipe, or saw a few cms off from a broom stick :open_mouth: .
  2. get a couple pipe anchors of suitable size like : https://corh.it/en/prodotti/heavy-pipe-clamp-for-steel-and-pe-pvc-pp-with-wood-iron-screw-and-dowel/
  3. fix the clamps to the wall and attach the pipe to them
  4. you have now a pole to which you can attach the provided clamp

(I would be curious to meet the artistic director that chose to include this photo to the product page gallery  )

I’m hoping for a low profile option to mount to a square “6x6” post (about 14cm/side, ~56cm diameter) or on a flat wall. It’s pretty wild that they didn’t bother to consider this common scenario in the design.

I’ve definitely used the PVC Pipe method a number of times, but I’ve never been proud of it.

If you want something flatter, you can replace the pipe with a short piece of plate or a small round bar with two holes for the plain anchors, all you need is a couple washers to keep it enough away from the wall to allow the clamp to pass behind the plate/rod.

Of course only if you want to mount it on one of the 4 faces of the square post.

If your objection is with the (objectively ugly/cheap looking clamp) that’s another thing, nicer looking inox ones do exist, but they are a PITA to tight properly and an even bigger one if you need to remove them, like:
