Reading about the new 5G lamp... Since it's marine compatible... It would be nice if the GPS package allowed output of the GPS/GNSS data on an IP port. The GPS/GNSS hardware module probably outputs in nmea0183 format to the mikrotik, and if that exact format of data were available to distribute by ethernet to other devices, that's valuable.
Right now, one would use a GPS instrument on the roof, power it, and take the nmea0183 rs422 output, and attach a ethernet port server with rs422 input (sort like a print server or serial server) Then you have antenna hardware, electronics hardware in different places, needing power, etc... This if the 5G LAMP is outdoor rated it could be less expensive than an outdoor rated GPS receiver and easier.
Then your marine software (opencpn, timezero pro or navigator, olex, etc...) can connect to an IP address (the mikrotik) and port (as configured in the mikrotik such as tcp 10110) and listen to that serial data stream. IP based marine data in the manner works with computers and most of the big name marine electronics company's multifunction displays.
It would be good to publish the declaration of conformity for the iec60945 approval; there are different aspects to the test and some manufacturers might not seek approval for all of the possible tests covered in that standard.. Something meant for indoors might pass electromagnetic compatibility and vibration but not waterproofness for example.
