Graphing interface statistics with Cacti -RouterOS 4.x

Hello,

I am having difficulty graphing interface statistics for ethernet interfaces on all of our RouterOS devices. Our devices are all currently running RouterOS 4.5, and we are using cacti 0.8.7.

The normal query methods we are using do not seem to be working. These are the stock templates supplied with Cacti for gathering interface statistics. They work for other devices we have - other routers, some backhauls, servers, etc - but not for the RouterOS devices. We get this returned to us when we run a query:

Data Query Debug Information

  • Running data query [1].
  • Found type = ‘3’ [snmp query].
  • Found data query XML file at ‘/var/www/cacti/resource/snmp_queries/interface.xml’
  • XML file parsed ok.
  • Executing SNMP walk for list of indexes @ ‘.1.3.6.1.2.1.2.2.1.1’
  • No SNMP data returned
  • Found data query XML file at ‘/var/www/cacti/resource/snmp_queries/interface.xml’
  • Found data query XML file at ‘/var/www/cacti/resource/snmp_queries/interface.xml’
  • Found data query XML file at ‘/var/www/cacti/resource/snmp_queries/interface.xml’

I searched these forums to find a specific template to use for RouterOS devices + ethernet interface data gathering, but could not find it. Could someone else here who uses Cacti + RouterOS 4.x shed some light on the proper way to gather interface statistics for these devices?

Maybe this script for munin?
