I have a query, I created gre tunnel & then gre interface at the fortigate side & mikrotik side can't be able to ping remote gateway IP (p2p) which was created fortigate gre interface remote gateway with ping access. But can be able to ping from mikrotik side p2p IP which are using fortigate gre interface local ip. Gre tunnel showing also up from fortigate side.Is the any issue for mikrotik side & how to solve it please help me urgently. Using fortigate version is 7.6.7
Pretty much impossible to say from that short description. It could be something as simple as the wrong GRE local/remote addresses, the tunnel IPs, a missing route, firewall filtering, or just the addressing on the p2p link.
The GRE interface showing as up on the FortiGate doesn't by itself prove that the tunnel is actually working. FortiGate GRE interfaces can show as "up" even if the remote end isn't reachable.
So without the relevant config, it's basically impossible to say much more. Start by posting the complete MikroTik config (minus sensitive stuff).
Always make sure you disable keepalive checking on GRE between different manufacturers.
Not possible to disable keepalive disable or zero for mikrotik side for gre interface
What do you mean??? Of course it is possible. I never run keepalive on GRE.
Actually I working fortigate firewall side & mikrotik side work other one & having no access He informed me that It's not possible. Also I give him command
/interface gre set [find name="gre-to-branch"] keepalive=no
Okay Thanks for giving me time. Already created a case fortinet & working on it
The correct command is /interface gre set [find name="gre-to-branch"] !keepalive
But maybe keepalive=no works as well...
He disabled keepalive mikrotik side still no work. Thanks for the time. If needs any help later I will knock you
