Groove 52 HPn (boat bridge to wireless)

OK, I’ve tried what I could find here that seemed relevant, reset to factory a whole bunch, but get consistently stuck at one place:

The Groove refuses to obtain a client IP address from the DHCP server on the wireless. I know the server is there and it works (dozens of devices working just fine). I can config the Groove as a DHCP server, that seems to work fine, I can get to it by Winbox/MAC and browser/IP, I can scan networks in either band and connect the wireless successfully. But it refuses to get a IP address (“NAT enabled” checked or not), it just sits at “scanning”, so obviously no internet. What am I missing???

A little more info- if I assign a static IP in the range of the wireless I’m connected to, I get IP access to internet. No DNS services tho, even if I statically assign the DNS servers. Firewall issues???
