Groove 52HPn Bricked?

Hi,

I have a Groove 52HPn, when plugging the unit in, the first two wireless LED’s light up and nothing happens, no beep or anything, even tried to get the unit into netinstall and also held the reset button down for more than 300 seconds as I know this emergency formats the device but nothing happens at all.

Is my unit bricked or is it recoverable?

Looks like it’s damaged.

Have you opened and inspected it?

Yeah, I have opened it and everything looks perfect inside, just doesn’t boot.

I have a similar case: brand new device, had trouble resetting to factory; finally managed to enter the groove via winbox onm facxt default settings.
upgraded to latest version. cannot access it anymore, not after 30 sec reset upon powering up , winbox cannot find the device anymore, nothing at 192.168.88.1.
just a blinking 1st led. apparently the mac adress is bricked or not acessible anymore. IPscan does not see the device..
any suggestions ?

Did you try recovering with netinstall?

yhe frst PC could not connect using webinstall the famou 1003 error. another pc with win7 finally connected after disabling all the safety features.
upin reset the MAC adress appeared in the window. I hit install using the routeros-mipsbe package (fter assigning the mac adresses etc, and calling the networtk connection safe as home network.
status went ready.
manual states that after this, the status should be " waiting reboot" but mine was “ready”. and the install button should become a reboot button, but not in my case.

after this winbox was still not able to connect.

any suggestions ?

After hitting “install” it doesn’t always change to reboot, just leave the CPE after installing for a few mins and make sure to uncheck “apply default config” in netinstall then after a about 1min the device should be up…

I received 5 metals, two groove’s and 4 RB750’s from the owner from an Internet Service Provider here as I know him, he gave me damaged hardware.
Out of the 5 metals, I got two to work 100% with the 3rd having a problem with the ethernet port not working with the CPE boots, every few boots the port starts working again.
Out of the 2 grooves, I only got one working and the second one was about this topic where It has the two wireless LED’s on when plugging the unit in but nothing happens so I think its bricked.
Out of the 4 RB750’s, I got all working but one of them had a problem with the last 3 ethernet ports going up and down even though there was nothing plugged into the ports but it is still usable with the first two ports, just disable the last 3.

I reinstalled all the devices that were okay using netinstall and I did notice that the “install” button did not always change to “reboot” but I just left the unit for a bit and It rebooted and continued the install perfectly.
