Groove A52AC

Hello Everyone,

Can anyone let me know what is the Max distance on groove Omni-Directional Antenna?

It depends of the client antenna/device.

Regards.

also depends on frequency (2GHz reach further than 5GHz) and required speed (you can achieve longer distance with lower speeds) and many other parameters.
Keep in mind that it will not instantly shut off… but reliability will slowly decrease as you increase the distance.
If you want a simple answer, then randomly choose any number between 0km and 5km and you will be right. (but trust me, you don’t want to have 5km link with stock omnidirectional antenna.)

To give you at least basic idea (in all situations using grooveA 52AC with stock omnidirectional antenna)
2GHz, 54Mbps: up to 0.6km should be reliable, over 1.5km impossible
2GHz, 150Mbps (802.11n 1x1 maximum): up to 0.3km should be reliable, over 0.8km impossible
5GHz, 54Mbps: up to 0.2km should be reliable, over 0.7km impossible
5GHz, 433Mbps (802.11ac 1x1 maximum): up to 0.1km should be reliable, over 0.3km impossible

You can use any of available “wireless link calculators” to calculate results. Usually, it does not really say “reliable/impossible”, instead they give you signal levels in a distance and it is up to you to decide, if that is sufficient or not, based on device specs…
For example mikrotik provides this calculator: https://mikrotik.com/calculator
