I purchased a Groove and hAP ac for my boat. I would like to use the Groove to access public WiFi access points, and use the hAP as an access point for devices used on my boat. I am having a heck of a time to get the devices to talk to each other, and to talk to the Windows PC I am using for doing the setup.
I have been able to access the Groove using Winbox and set it up to connect to an access point. The LAN port is connected to my PC, but my PC says “no internet.” I’ve followed a number of forum topics to setup DNS and DHCP settings. But, I cannot get a connection to the PC.
Before I get into a huge amount of detail, can anyone point me to a “here is a basic configuration” guide? I find a number of people trying the same type of setup, but I think the factory reset configurations of devices differ depending on specific model. And, the explanations given do not get into enough detail - apparently.
The Groove will connect to port1 of the hAP. I am able to configure the hAP’s 2GHz and 5GHz wireless ports, and connect to them. But, no internet connection.
