Hi Everyone, this is my first post on this Community. I have following question: I have GrooveA 52Hpn connected to MOXA IMC-21-M-SC through factory supplied POE injector. Then from MOXA via FO link the connection is to the similar MOXA IMC-21-M-SC media converter. Ethernet port from second MOXA converter is plugged to MTK RB750GL. When I am testing GrooveA 52Hpn connected directly to RB750GL everything works fine. Once I move GrooveA 52Hpn to the destination (where Ethernet connection is over FO link) this router does not show active Ether1 interface. What is more funny: for testing purposes I connected my laptop instead of Groove device: then I am getting IP address from RB750GL then Ethernet link over FO is working w/o any problem. Then when I connect back Groove instead of my laptop then same problem occures again: no indication of activity on MOXA device, the Ether1 acting as WAN is not active.
Any idea what could be a root cause of this problem?
If I get it right, you are essentially saying that when you replace an ethernet cable with a couple of MOXA adapters connected through fiber optic the connection (in particular the DHCP served lease) ceases to work, but ONLY if the connected device is the Groove?
Are you using the same ethernet cable from the MoXA to the groove and for the test between the Moxa and your laptop?
Logically you should have two ethernet cables, on that side, one going from the Moxa to the PoE injector, and one from the PoE injector to the Groove, did you test both of them?
I made some research. I moved one of Moxa converters to the same location as RB750GL & first Moxa MC. Then using FO patchcord I created link. Link was tested with laptop: connection was established, IP address received, I received access to the Internet. Then I disconnected Ethernet patchcord from second Moxa. Then I plugged in to Moxa original passive POE adapter supplied with Groove. Last step: I connected Groove with POE adapter with Ethernet patchcord. I spent some time with testing different settings of DIP switches on Moxa, but this didn’t solve issue. Finally I discovered an issue with Mikrotik POE adapter. The problem is with RJ45 plug on short cable with POE adapter (RJ45 socket). The quality of this plug is far away to be ideal. Finally it started to work when cable was rised up (removed tension) from cable weight. I will buy another POE adapter. This was my first touch to Groove router. I think the weak point is just mentioned PoE adapter.
