Hello to everyone. For some time we use the product Groove. Let me share with you our concerns about this great invention of Mikrotik, I hope after this post, make us understand the reason for this choice belonging to the economic reasons as always. I enclose photos of a Groove to show that no else in the adhesive of the LEDs is absolutely no protection against water. There are 5 holes to make it go in pretty well. As we all know all the stickers with the passage of time, heat, freeze it, shrink and stretch, and sooner or later fall off. What will happen after getting hot and possibly 50 ° -10 ° of cold? This …( try to remove the sticker for yourself and see the nice surprise)

never seen such issues. maybe if you don’t tear the sticker off, no water will go inside ?
we have grooves around the world and they work great in both cold, and also hot conditions.
In Latvia we have +32C in summer, and -25C in winter. Works great.
I guess it could be possible that you got one defective device, where the sticker was misaligned at the factory. Return it to the seller for RMA replacement, we would like to look at it.
It detached itself? After what time?
Well, my CPEs still UBNT, at least untill Groove 2 GHz came up
… but … I used to have I can say 5% of sticker detachment like this on Bullet2 & Nano2 Locos. And WX here range from +5 to + 40 max (but UV index without clouds peak 9 sometimes, 7 is avereage value).
After my first one nano died drawn I started re-use the adhesive tape that is wrapped around those tiewraps that came with the device to “seal” the sticker. Ok, this not sooo UV resistant et all but after that no more water inside.
May be the plastic case is UV resistant, so the sticker. But what about the glue/adhesive X UV X device temperature?
Regards;
We have done intensive tests both in test chambers and in outdoor real-life installations. Stickers do not come off the Groove. I can’t speak for UBNT, I have no experience.
I know you can’t Normis.
Just … benchmarking
Several brands use the same aproach to expose led indicators.
OT: what abt 2G version? Already have price range for it?
