Dear Mikrotik Users;
I am trying to setup a point to point so that I can backup one server to another server. Some of the files are over 3 GB in size so the PPTP VPN between mikrotiks on a 1 mbps upstream ISP are not fast enough.
I would like to setup a wireless PtP and see if that is cheaper and better !!
What hardware should I use for UNDER half a kilometer point to point?
BUILDING1 — RB750GL – RBSXTG-5HnD -------------------------------------------------- RBSXTG-5HnD ---- RB750GL ---- BUILDING 2
The RB750GL is for regular internet and the RBSXTG-5HnD would be for the point to point for the backup and server to server traffic ONLY!!!
Should I be using the Metal2SHPn instead??? Does it come with everything I need for one site and then buy another for other site???
Would 2 x RBSXTG-5HnD make a good point to point or 2 x Metal2SHPn???
Do I have to have ONE RBSXTG-5HnD and then the other must be different / cannot be a RBSXTG-5HnD ?
What hardware should I use?
Does the RBSXTG-5HnD come with everything I need for each site?
I feel kind of lost as there is no documentation stating what hardware goes together and in what amount / configuration?
