Handover wifiwave2 and legacy wifi ap

Does someone have experience in a mixed environment with wifiwave2 and legacy wifi access points? I m not able to get a handover working without disconnect from hap ac3 (wave2) and hap ac2 or cap ac. Hap ac3 → hap ac2 or cap ac works seamlessly. The other way around the client (iPhone 8 ) disconnects before association. Same security settings WPA2 AES and different channels. 2G and 5G 20 MHz bandwidth. RRM enabled FT disabled on hap ac3.

This is my home scenario. Hap ac3 with legacy driver works flawlessly.

Try to disable it.
My phone if roaming fine between hap ax2 and hap ac2. WPA2-only, 802.11r/k is disabled, spanning tree on bridge also disabled, no access list rules.

Disabled RRM did not solve the issue. Same result. Wifi signal is lost for some milliseconds. iPhone is in LTE mode and connects to wifiwave2. That’s not how it should be. Why did you disable STP?

Because an AP interface with no clients connected is disabled from bridge point of view. With STP enabled there is a delay between the time the first client connects to wifi and the time the AP interface enters forwarding state in the bridge. Keeping STP disabled allows immediate traffic forwarding.

Thanks a lot. I got it working by setting wifi interfaces to edge port = yes. Everything is fine now.
