Hangs on downloading plugins while connecting

Gents,

Would really appreciate of any ideas why it might be happening.

I have operational Router A (Model 750UP, RouterOS 5.6) and I can login to it without any problems.

Recently I have purchased new Router B (Model 750UP, RouterOS 6.15) to make it as a hot swap of router A. I have successfully logged in and made the restoration of config file of router A. Seems that configuration has been applied correctly, as my laptop (connected to router B) gets correct ip address via dhcp from expected pool of addresses.

However I can not log in to router B through winbox (v 3.0rc1), when I try to connect to the router the message “Downloading plugins” shows up for ages and nothing happens.

Could you please advise what might cause this issue.
May different ReuterOSes on routers be the reason of the problem?

p.s. when try to connect through older versions of winbox (e.g. v 2.2.18), error message pops up “could not get index: fatal error!”

Thank you

seems your router has some problem, if both winboxes can’t connect. I suggest using Netinstall to upgrade to RouterOS 6.25, Netinstall will also fix any filesystem errors if you have them

Thank you for recommendation
Is it possible to upgrade working remote router to routeros 6.25 without serious interuption, is it really straight forward?
Seems there is a some risk to get a brick after OS upgrade and the problem that the router 500km is far from my workplace.

Can you connect with Webfig (IP address in web browser) ? If yes, just leave Winbox alone. Better not risk a 500Km drive
