hAP AC lite bootlooping, can't netinstall

Hey all,

Like the title says, I have this hAP AC lite that didn’t come back after a software upgrade. I can’t netinstall it. After about 10s the USR light goes half brightness and the unit appears to reboot, does this ad infinitum.

I suspect it’s well and truly bricked, but can anyone offer any insight as to a procedure for reviving it?

Thanks in advance!

What is reason you can’t netinstall?

I had the same issue with my Hac AC you need to stop pressing the button at the exact time the led on the router turns off
Then it’ll will appear in Netinstall and I would also suggest using a switch to make things easier.
I used Netinstall on OSX with VMware fusion and a Windows VM to successfully Netinstall my Hap AC to firmware v6.42.3

be patient it took me an hour to discover the exact timing :open_mouth:

For anyone else that’s encountered this, I got it to work.

The issue didn’t have anything to do with my button press timing. The router was apparently trying to netboot, timing out after a bit, and rebooting.

It worked fine using a different machine to run netinstall. Go figure. Machine that it wouldn’t netboot from is an Asus N550JV running Win10, it
booted fine from a Mac Mini running Win7 in boot camp.

Sorry for not posting this sooner.

Thanks guys!
