I’ve done a check for update, the new firmware downloaded and the unit rebooted, it comes back to 6.43.4 after reboot (instead of updating to 6.44.3).
I’ve reset the unit to no-default-config, including manually downloading the npk file and uploading it to the router, on reboot always reverts to 6.43.4.
What do you suggest I do.
Is it because the free HDD size of 4.5MB (after resetting to no-default-config) is smaller than the 6.44.3 npk filesize of 11.3MB.
Is there something in log? It’s not flash (“HDD”) size, if it was, it wouldn’t be possible to upgrade any of these new 16MB device. Upgrade on these uses RAM.
I will check the log thanks. I didn’t think to look there.
I did a netinstall at the end. This was also frought with issues until I:
(1) Disabled windows firewall
(2) Disabled all other network connections except the ethernet where the mtik was on. Disabling wifi wasn’t enough, I also had vmware and virtualbox network connections that needed to be disabled before the mtik would recognise the netinstall.
