hAP ac no access, even after reset or netinstall

Hi,

I’m trying to recover access to an hAP ac device, as I couldn’t remember the IP I had on it (stopped using a while back) I tried to factory reset, but the device would not get it’s default IP (192.168.88.1).

So I tried a netinstall, everything seems OK and device reboots at the end, but still no access to it. IP 182.168.88.1 not responding.

Any interface I plug the cable in shows connectivity but no IP access or DHCP to client computer at all.

$ sudo ./netinstall -a 192.168.88.1 routeros-mipsbe-6.48.2.npk
Using server IP: 192.168.88.2

Try winbox mac connection, sometimes you won’t have any config after netinstall.

Thanks, that’s the next option I guess.

Will need to boot the kids PC for that as I’m on linux

Yeap, that worked

And you do not know “wine” or similar for running winbox on linux?
On netinstall, if the linux version are like windows version, there are two options: unselect “keep old configutration” and select “apply default config”.
After that go back like new with ip 192.168.88.1 and all the others default settings.

It’s not random, read the previous post, it depend on what box are checked, on default erase all and do not apply default config.
