Does anyone know which connectors are used in the hex ac? They aren’t the normal mmcx. I need to attach external antennas and I can’t seem to figure out what they are.
Thanks in advance.

hEX is an ethernet only device, you probably mean hAP ac (hAP = home AP)
they are not connectors, they are test points for factory. There are no antenna connectors on this device
I did mean hAP AC.
As for test points… ouch. looks like I have some soldering to do
There is nowhere to solder to
I think he means replace the test points with smd UFL connectors. The test point solder pads do match up. Of course this voids the warranty and breaks FCC rules. ![]()

Now now… I would never break those rules! ![]()
Besides, it’s an international version anyway.
I keep it within the legal specs - for this project, I just want to put the unit into a steal case and have 3x 3dBi antennas poking out.
If I was a hobbyist, I might try some of these. ![]()

Those may just work. I’ll have to grab a micrometer and see if the solder points will line up on the board.
I just added two external antennas to my HAP AC.
It just needs a careful removal of the hot glue above the U.FL connectors of 2GHz-ch2 and 5GHz-ch2.
First I warmed it up a bit to remove the U.FL connector of the internal antenna.
Then I carefully pulled it from the PCB to make room for the external antenna u.fl connectors.
I added an external 6dBi antenna to 5GHz-ch2 and a 12dBi external antenna ( 2 meters long
) connected to 2GHz-ch2.
