I have quite some hap ac2 devices. Upgrade to 7.1 beta 4 or 5 on 256MB edition devices was just a ‘click and done’, but never success on 128MB devices.
Anyone upgraded to 7.1 beta on hap ac2 device (128MB edition) successfully?
I had issues upgrading the hAP AC^2 from the v6 to v7.1b4, I used the netinstall to do it.
when I upgraded from the b4 to b5 it worked doing it via the packages menu in winbox
I tried using netinstall to upgrade but had no luck. Result was same as do it inside winbox and had to fall back to 6.48.1.
Is your device is hap ac2 (128MB Edition) ?
hAP ac2 128MB version, upgrade van beta4 to beta5 without problems. Could it be config related?
How did you upgrade from 6.xx? Any hints?
I did try to reset to default config of my hap ac2 b4 netinstall but still no luck.
The good news to me is hap ac2 128MB can be upgraded. So I can continue on trying other ways.
I upgraded through Winbox (/system > packages > check for updates) and upgraded to beta3 (if I remember correct). Aftrewards, the same for upgrades beta3 > beta4 > beta5
Okay. Just did some tests on 2 PCs. One with Realtek network card and one with Intel.
The tests on 2 pcs got same results:
NetInstall 7.1 Beta 5 couldn’t put the device into flash mode. NetInstall 6.48.1 had no problem.
So, I tried to put the device into flash mode with NetInstall 6.48.1 then close 6.48.1 and open NetInstall 7.1 Beta 5 and flash the device with 7.1 beta 5 rom.
Then the device became brick and I had to flash it back to 6.48.1 version.
I started beta testing since beta 4 so haven’t tried beta 3. I did try to find previous beta version in mikrotik archive but don’t have any beta version there.

Btw, anyone know where I can find Beta 3 copy?
I do hope this is just for test, since v7 is far from stable and should not be used in production.
Oh yes, I did the test on my home routers only. :))
