[hap ac2] - After enabling VPN client Internet goes down

Router is configured so the computer is connected to Internet through router’s Wi-Fi and pinging 1.1.1.1 from the computer is going fine.

Then I enable previously disabled L2TP client and pinging from the computer goes down but pinging the same IP from terminal in Winbox still going fine.

L2TP client is "C"onnected and "R"unning. It adds default route with distance 1. Below are two screenshots of Routing table before VPN client is connected and after.

Does anyone can suppose why?

Set “Default Route Distance” to 20 on L2TP Client or disable “Add Default Route” on L2TP Client.

Thank you, now works.

Also changing pinging host from 1.1.1.1 to 8.8.8.8 solves pinging problems because of blacklisted VPN`s public IP.


Yes, most VPN provider’s public IPs are in the blacklists. But it is ok for my needs (to watch video streaming services).
