HAP AC2 - Not Accessible after Upgrade

Hi,

I tried a few month ago to update my hap ac2 but it the hap seems to be some how now in a missconfiguration. It was the firmeware upgrade that caused problems to user owners, too.

As I have now some time to try to get the hap running again, I write to the forum just now.

Behaviour:

After power on all five leds for ETH1 - ETH5 are flashing one after the other within one second and immediatly the ETH1 starts blinking. In previous versions of the OS the ETHx LEDs turned on one after the other in much slower phase.

The HAP is not visible anymore in the Winbox (old and new version).

The HAP is not accessible from the Winbox even when I enter the MAC address.

The HAP is not visible in the netinstall.

What I have tried:

  • I downloaded the version of Winbox 4.0.1
  • I downloaded the version netinstall v7.22.1
  • I downloaded the routeros-7.22.1-arm.npk

On a windows 11 computer

  • I deactivated the WLAN.
  • changed the LAN settings to IP: 192.168.88.2; 255.255.255.0; Gateway and DNS 192.168.88.1
  • started netinstall and configured the “Net Booting” with both IP addresses for the client: 192.168.88.1 and 192.168.88.3
  • I tried via direct lan connection as well as via a simple 1 Gbit/sec 8-port switch unmanaged
  • I tried several times to set the HAP into netinstall mode:
    • Pressed Reset Button
    • Connected Power
    • Pressed Reset Button until USR LED in the back turned-off and waited a few more seconds if netinstall shows the HAP → NEGATIVE
      • The windows computer indicated that it tries to connect to the lan (gray lan icon with the white cable part blinking) until the HAP turned into netinstall

I assume due to the USR LED indication that the HAP goes into the netinstall mode, but I did not yet get the HAP connected to the netinstall on the windows machine.

Does anybode have an idear what I can try next to recover the HAP and make it usable again?

Netinstall works only on eth1, are you using it?

I use the port 1 Internet / PoE in.

The LAN port on the Windows machine (WLAN) deaktivated. Thus no further LAN/WLAN Port on the Windows machine.

HAP I use ETH1.

Direct LAN connection.

I start netinstall, check “Net Booting” active. Then I start the HAP into netinstall mode.

Try to disable firewall/antivirus.

Don’t unpress reset button until mikrotik will appears in netinstall.

OK, the netinstall worked.

After the reboot I have still issues to acces.

1 - No WLAN shown

2 - No DHCP IP neither on ETH1 or ETH2

Firewall still deactivated on the windows machine.

Access via Winbox works … hmmmm

No DHCP server defined …

You installed only main routeros package.

You need to install wireless package as well.

After - reset with default configuration.
