Hello all, is there a workaround to install 7.4.1 rather than using netinstall which will erase my config and settings?
If I have to use netinstall, I have my backup file and exported config file.. but I guess they wont work on v7.

Hello all, is there a workaround to install 7.4.1 rather than using netinstall which will erase my config and settings?
If I have to use netinstall, I have my backup file and exported config file.. but I guess they wont work on v7.

Export from 6.46.8 and up work on v7.4.1, except if you have BGP or ADVANCED routing.
All your problem are derived from your past choices, on this case,
because instead leaving routeros main package, you have removed it and installed single packages (all this for not install ipv6 package?)
I don't have BGP or ADVANCED routing, I'm on 6.49.6 right now.. Do I have to downgrade to 6.46.8?
I needed more space at first and uninstalled wireless package.. then I reinstalled wireless package. so that's the story of it ![]()
edit: can I revert it to have whole package then install v7?
No, is already «6.46.8 and up»
v7 have only whole package, is why you see all the fails on broken packages, simply do not exist
netinstall is the soluction where you lose less time than:
DOWNGRADE with downloaded standalone routeros-arm-6.48.6.npk (check the correct name, and use only that package)
upgrade with downloaded routeros-7.4.1-arm.npk
and cross your fingers…
I will try putting routeros-7.4.1-arm.npk in files and reboot now without downgrading to previous version or using netinstall, hope it works..
edit: didnt work.. went for netinstall and used .backup file for config which worked seamlessly and beautifully. cake qos worth it.
To be mildly pedantic, we’ve tried to retire the term “qos” in favor of smart queue management (sqm). Rationale here: https://www.bufferbloat.net/projects/cerowrt/wiki/Smart_Queue_Management/
QoS is (IMHO) hopelessly overloaded with ideas that don’t work.
