HAP AC2 PERFORMANCE NUMBERS

Somebody from mikrotik can confirm published performance numbers from hAP ac2 ??

https://mikrotik.com/product/hap_ac2

are really impressive!!!

practically wipes the rb3011 !!! (except fast-path and big packet tests)

Yes, these are official test results.

Yep, looks good. Hoping we can see an 8 port+ router/switch all-in-one based on this.

thank you for your response

i dream an rb750GR4 on this chipset

Why, the router has five ports … rather we are waiting for a flagship with 8+ Geternet ports , SFP+, hdd bay sata3, HighPower radios 802.11ac/ax 8/4-stream Dual-band with combo /5GHz and 2.GHz /
external antennas … maybe based on Qualcomm IPQ8074 !

The IPQ-4018 is built as a Wi-Fi chip by Qualcomm, and I think is unlikely to be used in a hEX.

go for rb1100ahx4 then

i speak about rb750g concept: a 60us router with this chipset but 256mb of ram

if you need an sfp transceiver go for Hex POE and attach it to your existing equipment

RB1100ahx32. The cores on that integrated ASIC seem to have better performance the the ones of TILEGX

can anybody share wireless performance of hap ac2 vs hap ac?
the comments on cap ac is quite scary and these two products were released (around?) the same time.
looking to purchase a dozen of these but i must be assured they work well.

lso, does hap ac2 support switch vlan / hw offload? this should be updated to contain newest hardware… https://wiki.mikrotik.com/wiki/Manual:Switch_Chip_Features#Bridge_Hardware_Offloading

It’s currently only supported through the switch configuration (switch chip = AR8327), see https://wiki.mikrotik.com/wiki/Manual:Switch_Chip_Features#VLAN_Example_1_.28Trunk_and_Access_Ports.29

i questioned support about the worrying performance on this thread. they suggest to try the latest rc. will you guys give it a go?

yes arm cortex a15 core has better performance than a tile core

but is not that simple to escalate something from 4 cores to 32 or 36 cores SoC in terms of yield, power and costs

for example rb1100ahx4 quad core cortex a15 power consumption is around 20 watt, escalate that to 32 cores and you get easily around 120watt of SOC power consumption, similar to tilera 72 core SoC

WIll be a good idea replace for example:

tilera 9 core by 4 core arm a15 (allready done)

tilera 16 core by 8 core arm a15 at 1.4ghz

tilera 36 core by 16 core arm a15 at 1.4ghz

tilera 72 core by 32 core arm a15 at 1.4ghz

possible same multi-core performance, but 2x single core performance

but that not imply lower costs

I am really starting to regret this purchase.

gigE performance has been, meh.. dismal at best.

No HW supported openvpn yet.

:frowning:

When it was promised? And who it promised? Or you mean hardware support for IPsec?
