Hap ac2 TX power tables info missing

Hi there,

On all my hap ac2 it’s impossible to see TX power settings in WinBox It always shows “0” dBm in 2.4GHz and nothing in 5G.
This is across the 3 units I have here.
In other products (MIPS based etc.) that info is always available.

In addition its not possible to change manual-data rates, it will show error below.

Anybody has an idea why this is and how I can set individual data rates?

Advanced thanks for your help
(PS: device is with default setting after complete reset, no others changes, 6.43.8 ROS)

I can confirm this issue is present on my hAP ac^2 also. Version 6.43.8.

Can someone running 6.42 longterm comment if they see similar behaviour ?

I see this as a major issue that needs to be addressed by Mikrotik Support !

Current-tx-power is not supported by the 802.11ac devices.

Why it is not supported ? Is Manual TX Power also not supported ?
And do the regulatory domain actually correct the TX power ?

I think everything else is working, only you can’t see the values in current Tx.

The Wireless 2.4G interface does not do 11ac, only the 5G, so the values should be there for 2.4G!

In addition you can adjust country and regulatory domain, antenna gain!!! Which means output power values will change!
Why can you not see what is applied finally in the device and why can you not lower it?

Also if you do reduce the output power with “manual fixed rates for all” , you won’t see what you have done
and if it was applied or not.

Again, why would you not provide this information to customers, I would not dare if they are not 100% correct, but not seeing any value is not good.

The issue is not with the standard, it’s with the chip. In this model, both 2GHz and 5GHz are run in the same wireless chip, which doesn’t support such features as showing all the powers.

Hi Normis,

What other features are not supported at the moment for hap ac^2 ?
Setting manual-tx-power ?
What are the differences in wireless package/driver for ac^2 in 6.42.11 and 6.43.8 ?

Hi normis, can this “issue” or “feature” can be published in the product wireless chip spec so I and others can see it while evaluating the product?
(this post is good enough for me but if it was on the specs I wouldn’t be required to search the forum)
Sounds fair?

Please, can you tell me if cAP ax show TX power both for 2.4 Ghz and 5Ghz ?

Thank you
