hAP-aC2 with SFP port

It would be extremly nice to have hAP-AC2 with SFP port.
Something like Hex and HexS but with HW VLAN support…

What do you think @Forum and @MikroTik

Why would a home/office Access point/router have an SFP port ?
There are many other models with SFP ports…

And why not? Original hAP AC has it

So, it should have an SFP because another model does?
Also hap ac with hap ac 2 are completelly different, the only common they got is their name… hap ac has different CPU, different architecture, different wireless chips and different prices.. you can’t compare…

100% agree, a HAP AC2 with SFP, and a hap ac lite with SFP.
The HAP AC is a tad too expensive.

We would buy 100s of them.

So what?
You asked “Why would a home/office Access point/router have an SFP port ?” like it’s some kind of nonsense never seen before.
While it’s really a nice feature to have for some users.
Home users as well.

You are right, hAP AC is a very different device, and one of the major differences is price.
So just as we can chose between hEX and hEX-S for an inexpensive but rather powerful router, it would be nice if we could choose between hAP ac2 and some hAP-S ac as an inexpensive all-in-one solution.

The point was:

  1. HEX price 45 EUR + VAT
  2. HEXS price 55 EUR + VAT
  3. hAP-AC2 price 55 EUR + VAT
  4. And I see here hAP-AC2+SFP for 65 EUR + VAT (my estimate…no such product)

Why… I have many custumers where we come to them with Optics and they want just one single affordable device with WiFi..

But I am unsure if IPQ-4018 supports SFP… I would gladly loose one RJ45 port for SFP…
Some of you would also use it in GPON setups..

And I see I am not the only one with such request..
Here’s to hoping

If you want an sfp port then buy a mikrotik model with an SFP port! So many!!!
If i wanted my car to have a racing exhaust, would i tell the factory to produce it the way i want?

I already have one.

And that’s not the point.
Current mikrotik product line is missing a particular item that was present in the previous generation product line: affordable compact all-in-one device with sfp port.
Despite your jokes that’s a demanded product.
Because in today’s product line it’s either hEX-S + AP or RB4011.
Both options are a compromise.

There is definitely a need for a hap ac lite or hap ac2 with SFP. An all in one device for active networks that is cheaper than the HAP AC.

When I read first time the “hap ac2” I thought ut will be the successor of the “hap ac”, with more power. But not

bump

+1

hAP-S ac²/lite would be most welcome.

PS.: But is important to have compatibility with GPON SFPs. Unlike RB4011.
