hAP ac2: wlan1 as client loses network?

I'm using my hAP ac2 as a wifi extender: wlan1 in station mode, connects to my Android phone AP (Samsung).

It works, but 1 per 10 times, network is lost:

  • Wlan1 interface is up and running state
  • wlan1 has active ip lease
  • Hap can't ping anything (neither by ip nor by address)

Escape is: disable wlan1 and re-enable wlan1: immediately OK.

What can be the problem, and what would worth trying?

OS is 7.19.3

Thank you!

Do you Nat twice ? The Phones Internet Sharing "acts" like a router, and your hAP also a router if you don't disable the Nat ?
Sorry for not using the correct network vocabulary.

Yes, phone NATs the traffic, and MTik also NATs the traffic.

You might try updating RouterOS . . . I've been doing a similar thing (station and ap on the same radio - you don't mention if you are using virts on one radio or both) and it's been solid with 7.22.x

Thank you! Yes, I'm using wlan1 for station and wlan3 for ap. Wlan3 is the slave for wlan1.

So thanks the tip, will try it right now!

Hi, what drivers are installed on Mikrotik: wireless or wifi-qcom-ac?

Hi, I am using the wireless driver.

Moreover: I have several Station Connect Rule with a preset SSID and configured security profile.

In my current location, there are 3 APs, only 1 has configured Station Connect Rule. Other 2 APs are "enemy", ie I have no info nor password to them.

But my observation is Mtik first loses the correct SSID, then it is jumping between other 2 "enemy" APs.

In case I manually set SSID for the wlan1 IF, it seems working fine.

These observations are on version 7.23.
