Hi, I have 1 RB2011UiAS-2HnD-IN acting as an AP. I’m trying to configure an HAP lite as a client, but it’s not getting an ip, in fact there’s no traffic in the wireless interface (station), Is there any specific thing to consider when doing this? Other devices are able to pair normally, and this same hap was able to pair with a different AP.
Thank you.
If the Ap is in Ap bridge mode, use the station bridge mode on the hap.
That was the modes I was using. I also tried every other combination.
The wireless interfaces stays in searching for network, as if the authentication or the bonding process was failing.
I’ve tried with 2 Hap and with a different AP (huawei) and it works fine.
I still don’t know I can connect from hap to rb2011.
I don’t see any debug messages in any of the devices. What should I activate for logging? just wireless, debug ?
Thank you.
I have just tried it. Having rb2011 that runs ap bridge mode. Powered the hap lite, removed the wlan1 from bridge, set the station bridge mode, enabled the second chain too (was disabled by default), created corresponding security profile, assigned it to wlan1. pressed “scan”, found the ap. Pressed “connect” and got “connection established” immediatelly.
Any problem at all…
Yes, it’s something with the authentication.
log says:
wlan1 established
lost connection, 802.1x authentication failed
if I leave the auth in open it works, but WPA and WPA2 are failing. none of the other devices are failing with same settings.
I did the test with wpa2, using this security profile:
/interface wireless security-profiles
add authentication-types=wpa2-psk eap-methods="" group-key-update=1h mode=\
dynamic-keys name=mynetwork supplicant-identity="" wpa2-pre-shared-key=\
somethingishere
Maybe you should reset the wireless on both sides and make the wireless config again to be sure it is the same.
Thank you you all, it worked only using WPA2 PSK AES.
Use “client pseudobridge” instead of “client bridge”. ![]()
