hAP ax^2 WiFI as station/WAN

Hello to all,
New here and my hAP ax^2 is my first Mikrotik device.
What I am trying to do is to configure the hAP in a way that wifi1 is used as WAN.
The first step of course is to manage connecting it via wifi to my provider’s router but without success as I cannot figure out a wifi-station working configuration. It is pointless to post any configuration as the device has been reset many times and there is no config set on it that could cause the problem.

I am running 7.15.3 and before upgrading I was able to use my hAP as wifi station.

Any help would be highly appreciated.

Bold statement.
It is the config anyhow … and if you don’t show it, how can we point out to you what’s wrong ?

Start with upgrading to latest stable (7.16.1).

Broad steps:

  • move ether1 from WAN to LAN
  • move wifi(whateveryouwant) from LAN to WAN
  • remove wifi(whateveryouwant) from bridge
  • add ether1 to bridge
  • move DHCP client from ether1 to wifi(whateveryouwant)

Next, I assume your WAN wifi source is not Mikrotik ?
In that case you should use station (or maybe station-pseudobridge, not sure there, I would have to test).
Don’t set any frequency, bandwidth, nada. Just the SSID and security settings. Let it find the radio on its own.
