Hello, this evening when coming home I noticed only my phone could connect to the WiFi. After diagnosis, it appears that WiFi 2 is down. I tried rebooting, deactivating and reactivating WiFi, or just WiFi 2, with no success. Any clue what I should try?
First thing is to export your current configuration so we can see if something is wrong there.
Thanks for your reply. Amazingly WiFi 2 has restarted tonight. I have no clue what has happened.
My best guess would be that the selected channel was not supported by the client device. Especially because wifi2 is the 5GHz radio.
Again, your config will provide necessary information.
Another possibility (with default setting of automatic frequency selection) is that AP was using a DFS frequency where it detected a radar ... and then entered the reselection/measurememnt loop which can take quite some time even if no further radar detections occur. So it would be useful if, while AP is not working, one would check actual interface status, e.g. by running
/interface/wifi/monitor [ find name=wifi2 ] once
in CLI which will tell what's interface status.
I've seen this in the US . . . there are a few "edge" frequencies that the uTik wants to use in auto that older clients may not support. I ended up creating my own freq lists (cut down from the US defaults) and problem gone. The radio was always on air . . . the client just couldn't hear it.
