hAP ax lite LTE6 no link for one device type

Hi everyone,

I have hAP ax lite LTE6 device, basic set through Quick Set interface. Upgraded board and modem firmware to last one (7.17),

All 4 ports are in bridge mode, DHCP is active, whatever device I connect to router, everything is working OK, but when I try to connect POS terminal ( https://castlestech.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/07/U1F_Brochure_20231222.pdf ), there is not traffic detection on that port ( there is no matter on which port I connect it ). LED on port is not blinking, like cable is unplugged or broken or device is off.

When I try that cable, or any other cable on other devices, or lot of other cables on that device, situation is the same, every other device is working in any combination, but that POS terminal is not working in any combination.

Sometimes, port start to work, after a while, without any activity, sometimes it start to work when I change L2 MTU from default 1596 to 1598, but that does’t have to be rule, sometimes it doesn’t work even with that.

When I connect POS to some non smart switch, device start to work immediately, port start to blink, winbox detect traffic and port activity.

I tried to use cross cable, just to eliminate the influence of the cable, but situation is the same :frowning:

When I connect POS to some 4G Huawei or some other router, device starts to work immediately, get IP address from dhcp. So it’s not to cable, or POS device, it’s something to MT configuration, something specific, what I cannot find out, what it is.

Already tried setting that port to fixed speed (not using auto negotiation) ?

Hi holvoetn,

yes, I’v tried, but that is no guaranty that will work.

Just when I thought I had solved something with the change, it turns out that it doesn’t work guaranteed either.

Lower speed too ?
I’ve seen it happen with some bank payment terminals for POS, 1 type I had to set the connecting port to 10Mbps (yes, 10 !) or it wouldn’t stay stable.

Yes, this is bank payment POS terminal, and definitely is combination of cable type ( it looks like 5e is working with auto negotiation ) and I will play more with speeds.

I will feed back as soon as I try.

It has to be set to “10M baseT full” and now it’s working in any combination.
