HAP AX S - RSTP Instability

On the HAP AX S in the config with ETH1 as part of the bridge and RSTP enabled i’m getting the following issues:

  • CPU usage spikes in intervals with noted “mediatek_switch”
  • Latency spikes and/or packet loss on traffic flowing through ETH1 with timing corresponding with the CPU spikes

Turning RSTP off resolves the problem - packets flow as expected without packet loss/delay. AP isn’t under high pressure - 40-50 mbp’s in traffic total through all ports.

Going to open up a ticket, anyone else experiencing this?

Very interesting...
This could be the cause of my upload speed being limited to 100 Mbps (hAP ax S) when using Ether1 and wireless.
I'll try tomorrow and let you know.

Didn't change anything for me.

Don't know if there are anything specific to the network I tested with that causes this then. Tried with both current stable and AB build and both did the same.

Will test out in a different network when I have time.
