Hap AX2 5ghz wifi range less than 1meter

I have 4 hap ax2 units and one of them the 5ghz wifi has a very limited range, less than 1 meter between hap antennas > pc, in the registration panel the signal is around -35 while on the pc the signal is less than 1 bar!

And how do you know your PC is connected to THAT specific AX2 ?
It might be it’s still connected to one of the others.
Typically a client device tries to hang on onto a connection as long as possible unless being kicked out (process to be avoided since it may ultimately lead to the client avoiding such an AP), or FT Roaming is in effect.

the ssid are different, the 2.4ghz network works normally

Give your hapax some TLC → https://www.prairienaturals.ca/products/test-force/

/export file=anynameyouwish ( minus router serial number, any public WANIP information etc.).

Hopefully the config will show something amiss, otherwise perhaps you have something interfering in the frequency of choice.
( have you tried different frequencies??)

This smells like smoke escaped from WiFi output power amplifier.

Maybe he should try putting it back in. Will any smoke do?

I don’t think so. I don’t believe that 2.4GHz smoke would do, it’s different colour.

tx/rX rate is pretty low for a -38 signal something’s wrong here pretty sure.

As I wrote: blown PA would pass those microwatts from driver to antenna and that would allow for short range communication. The other direction (signal strength, reported by AP) seems fine. The low rate only says that client doesn’t have much to send (perhaps due to really low throughput from AP towards client).
