I’m having a problem with hAP ax2 again, this time is problem with link speed.
So i noticed that my internet speed dropped from 180/140 to 92/93 Mbps and at first i thought that ISP is limiting speed but then today i discovered that link speed between ubiquiti antenna and mikrotik is only 100 Mbps ? With hAP ac3 i had 1 Gbps link speed.
Also link between two hAP ax2 is also just 100 Mbps instead of 1 Gbps and such problems didn’t exist with hAP ac3…
This is terminal output for link between router and AP downstairs:

If it was only one port doing it, I’d bet on cable/connector issues. Having two ports behave the same way at the same time I’d say switch chip had a hiccup. I’d first have a look at logs (/log print to verify time sequence … also look at events a few minutes prior to link speed renegotiations), then I’d cold boot device (simple reboot might not reset switch chip thoroughly enough).
If those log entries, mentioning ethernet port speed changes, don’t have exactly the same time stamp, then it still might be two independent issues … and that would again broaden scope to cable issues (too long stretches of too low category UTP cable). Mind that with longer cable stretches, external interference can degrade performance … laying UTP cables in parallel with power wires is known to cause issues. Etc.
So, when i had hAP ac3 and cAP ac combo there was no problem at all, cables are category 6, max length is about 9-10 meters at most.
I will try to connect/reconnect cables and then see what’s happening with speed.
Cables are in the walls, they are going by electrical cables at some areas but cable runs are not long.
One more info, i noticed that router negotiated 100 mbps with AP when i had both devices on my table while i was setting them up. They were connected by 1 meter UTP cable.
So I changed cable coming from the router to the antenna from cat 5e to Cat 6 FTP, turned off router, removed power for about 1 minute, powered on and this is the result from logs:

I don’t know what to do, i tried to put beta version of ROS… and still the same problem… Is it possible that one of the routers is faulty ?
Seen several times that Mikrotik has a problem with category 6 cables. Try connecting a Category 5 patch cord directly to the Mikrotik. or try using an intermediate device. It also helps to disable auto-negotiation and set 1 GB manually.
Originally there is cat 5e connection between wall outlet and router, cables in walls are cat 6 and my hap ac3 didn’t have any problem with that. I had one gigabit switch downstairs but then, i had default VLAN only, now i have 5 of them… But outdoor antenna was directly connected to hap ac3 and it had 1 Gbps link, now, only 100 Mbps.
I tried to set link speed to 1 Gbps and disable autonegotiation but then i don’t have link…
So I tried to add gigabit switch between router and antenna and still i get 100 Mbps link speed between switch and router.

I replaced ax2 with my old ac3 and now it’s working, my plan for now is to factory reset both ax2 and then see if problem with link persist, if yes, then netinstall, if there is still a problem then it’s hardware issue ? or maybe ROS bug ? they came with ROS 7.5 from factory, is it possible to netinstall that version ?
After netinstall i get this when first powering the router on:
There is no more normal default configuration for some reason no matter what i do… aaaaaand there is no wireless interfaces at all… on both routers… i really don’t know what is wrong now…
So i tried to downgrade to factory 7.5 ROS and then netinstall it, i tried to tick apply default config and nothing… Stil same “default” configuration…
Did i screw something up ? I mean i did netinstall on RB4011 and HexS before and everything was just fine…
Update: it’s working now, i didn’t include wifi package and that seems to be a problem. Now both devices are netinstalled ROS7
So now i tried to replace ac3 with ax2 and its working, full link speed and internet speed, i even managed to get thermostat working for now.
Second router wont negotiate 1gbps with my laptop, i tried different cables and everything and nothing, manually setting up port to 1 gbps makes port dead… Other ports are working fine.
