hAP AX2 WireGuard Throughput (UDP)

Hello!

Anyone kind enough to give me an estimate of the WireGuard throughout for an hAP AX2? I’ve search the web but cannot find anything useful.

Don’t know but can measure tomorrow, for hAP ac2 i get about 363Mbps DL/ 341 Mbps UL

Thanks! How are you measuring it? I’m getting 150-200 using the bandwidth test from another mikrotik device.

When testing: test THROUGH the device, not USING the device.
If you do bandwidth test AND wireguard encryption on the same device, your cpu might not like it that much…

Best to use Iperf on PC - cable - Tik -Wireguard- Tik - PC with Iperf.

I’m using Openspeedtest.

Server is on one W11 machine connected to CHR (special PC running proxmox and all network interfaces are passed directly to the CHR)

CHR connected to my switch on main network.

Test device connected to the same switch and same VLAN as CHR.

And then on test device any client that can open openspeedtest in browser.

All test devices are running default config with few extra fw rules to allow wg to work.

Test results for ax2:

Download: 644.3 Mbps (avg CPU usage 81%, cpu1 at 100%)
Upload: 356.2 Mbps (avg CPU usage 74%, cpu1 at 100%)

ROS version: 15beta8 on both devices. And don’t use USB network cards for test… I changed 2 TP-Link cards, every time test starts, get up to speed and then you hear disconnect sound in windows :laughing:

Thanks for the advice and the numbers. Why such big difference between upload and download?
