HAP be lite DOA?

I just received a HAP be lite and it's behaving oddly. When I plug it in (using the supplied AC->USB adapter), I get a blue light on the front for a while, but no network lights ever light up on the ethernet side of the box, and it doesn't show up in the WB neighbors.

It's not completely dead as when I hold the reset button for 10-15 seconds while plugging it in, the front light does switch from blue to a blinking green, but still no other signs of life.

DOA and do an RMA? Or is there anything else I should try before giving up?

I have one and it works great. There are no lights on the ethernet ports so you have to look at the other end of the cable. The box I got had the normal setup that means I got a 192.168.88.0/24 address on port 2,3 and 4 but port 1 (2,5 Gbit) is WAN in the setup so if you plug the cable to this port nothing will work.

You should however see a wireless network that you can connect to as well if you want to. Wifi key is printed on the device next to the reset button (right side).

Bingo - thanks for the tips. I realized a two things I'd done wrong:

  • assumed that there would be blinky lights
  • plugged directly into ether1 from a computer (default config sets this to the WAN port)

I saw that there was the new wifi network so I connected that way to wipe the config and then was able to configure it normally. The lack of lights on the ethernet ports really threw me for a loop!

You where not alone on the light for the ports. Was very confused first as well but then noticed that I had a 192.168.88 address on my PC so that is when I looked closed and no led's on the ports so had to look at the other end  But I alwasy user the last port, 4 in this case, as the first ports tends to be WAN.
