What a concidence
, the movie is due out on September 2 in Italy:

was the cheapest looking one I could find to butcher for my scientific experiment ![]()

Why are all of you running around in circles about the temps?!
Which are considered as absulutely normal both by Qualcomm and all the manufacturers including Mikrotik itself!
What do you want to achieve? Reduce what, the components load?
Then why doing that do you increase the total sustained power load by adding fans?
I don't get you, people ![]()
Relax!
This doesn't look like a calibrated thermometer ![]()
That is why I personally have a problem with the 14w idle power consumption. And if this affects all upcoming MikroTik 802.11be devices, then waiting for them was not worth it for me.
In that case, I will either stop at MikroTik AX or look for another vendor that can build more energy-efficient 802.11be access points. But there is hope: hap be lite seems to have a moderate power consumption
Two other uncalibrated ones show almost the same temperature so you can treat it as a measurement inside 2-sigma distribution set
Any device highly packed with technologies and abilities WILL use a lot of power and warm up.
Energy cannot be created or destroyed, it can only be transformed from one form to another ![]()
No way there was officially 51,9°C in Poland. Your thermometer is located above asphalt, inside your house or something where heat can't escape.
2 m above ground, sunny side of home, backyard, sensor oustide home but not in the shadow that time. In the shadow it was 45+.
ARM processors vs Intel/AMD ones. A huge gap in terms of energy consumption. Not a gap, an abyss.
We already have arm64 here, the thread is not about using the outdated SoC.
My initiate question was why do you so eagerly want to dissipate the heat if its levels are by-desing?
"By design" does not justify the poor design.
WiFi 7 devices are quite power-hungry. U7 Pro XGS on the ceiling consumes 12.5 W in idle and has a temperature of 65 degrees. Until a new generation of chips comes out, we won't be able to escape this.
But the proper radiator could dissipate the heat better but it would not change the amount of lost energy and lower the global warming. However it at least would let to touch the device without skin injury.
These "Pro" devices always consumed more power.
