Hap Lite behind a bridged modem

Hello all.

I just bought a brand new Mikrotik Hap Lite and connected it to my ISP’s modem, a Cisco DPC3928 that is configured in bridge mode, so at its ethernet ports you can get a public IP from the ISP.
But when I try to set up my Hap Lite, in the Quick Set screen I select the “Home AP”, and the “Internet” section that has the “Address Acquisition” set to Automatic, doesn’t get any IP. No matter if I click Renew or Release.
I can get an IP from the Cisco modem on my laptop connected right to one of its ethernet ports. And I have made sure to connect the Hap Lite from its “Internet/Ethernet 1” port to one of the Cisco’s ethernet ports.

Am I being silly and missing something obvious here?

Thanks in advance for any help.
Regards.

If your Cisco is indded in Bridge mode, then it has no L3 functionality, it can’t give out IP addresses.. If it does that, then its not in Bridge mode.
Bridge mode means simply no routing.

I can get an IP from the Cisco modem on my laptop connected right to one of its ethernet ports

Its not a modem then, its a router.

What does the log of the hap say ?
